The Beriscope by Yanko Designs is still a concept device, but we think it will be pretty cool once it hits the mass market. If you are not fond of getting wet or venturing into the deep waters, you will still be able to enjoy the wonders of the sea or with this nifty device.
It works like this: the one end has a ball with a water resistant 2D camera inside which is attached to a chord. The ball separates from the main device and you can throw the ball into the water, much like a fishing line, then view the results through the visor. It doesn’t have 3D capabilities (yet) and you can’t record your underwater expedition, but it is still a very cool way of enjoying life underwater without squeezing into a wetsuit.
When you are finished enjoying the life aquatic from the comfort of the beach or a boat, you simply retract the chord and the camera will follow. The Beriscope was designed by Jaewon Choi at Yanko Design – the same people who have come up with cool ideas like the USB Watch, the hanging printer, and VJ Cam.
