Some BMW drivers just give all BMW drivers a bad name but with the new 6 Series convertible we might just let a few of them off the hook. This model opens up a new chapter for BMW in a tradition of open-top cars that stretches back decades.
The 6 Series convertible encompasses luxury, driving pleasure and pretty decent looks. It will definitely silence a few of the critics who claim BMW have never produced a vehicle that has all three of those attributes.
It has two engine variants straight from launch; the eight-cylinder power plant which produces 300 kW and a six-cylinder twin turbo motor capable of 235K kW. This is not the most exciting part of the car; it’s the fact that it can seat 4 people and it does so in comfort. That is what lets most coupes and cabriolets down – the fact that they are made for 4 people but not actually designed for them at all.
That’s why we like this car so much; we can go partying with the bodyguards in the back.
