We first head off to the land of apple pie, Colorado USA which plays host to a really trendy, upmarket town called Aspen. Skiing nirvana can easily be achieved on 4000 acres of terrain. It is also one of the most reputable skiing areas in the world as it has four different ski areas. Call it the Viper Room of ski resorts since it is elite and glitzy. Several celebrities have been known to rendezvous there, including Kevin Costner and Antonio Banderas. Apart from skiing, partake in other activities such as ice climbing or ballooning. If you think this place looks familiar… you are right. Aspen has been the ski resort of choice by many directors. Most notably the timeless Jim Carrey classic, Dumb and Dumber was also shot on location at Aspen. Head off there but if you bump into a celebrity, play it cool.
Crans Montana, Switzerland
Fine cheese and chocolate is not the only reason that you should make your way to Switzerland. Its ski resort Crans Montana is a signifier of exclusivity and high rolling. Just the name Crans Montan, is an inkling of it esteemed pedigree. It is elevated at about 1500 m above sea-level. Highlights include a challenging 12 km cross-country circuit an epic 150km of slopes, a breath taking view of the Swiss mountains and pleasingly there is also activities throughout the year. It also plays host to the pop rock event, Caprice Festival and the golf event, Omega European Masters. It is interesting to note that James Bond star, Roger Moore owns a chalet there.
