Luxury Hotel Inside An Aircraft Carrier

Written by Brianna Smity

In the world of luxury hotels, something with a difference is always welcome, so a hotel in a retired aircraft carrier sounds like just the trick.

This military aircraft carrier, named “Kiev”, has had a £9.6million refit and is set to reopen as one the most unique hotels in the world.

In 1996 the retired warship was sold by the Russians to a Chinese company and has been part of a military theme park in north China’s Tianjin municipality since 2004. Because the nation, which is sustained with cash inflows, has several aircraft carriers being built for its plans of having true blue water navy, it has purposely left this former aircraft carrier for use as a luxury hotel.

The luxurious hotel boasts five presidential suites, a host of lavish rooms, plenty entertainment and an ample staff compliment to make sure your stay would be an unforgettable one. Prices have not been established as yet, but it seems as though this wild and interesting luxury hotel will not be a cruising hotel as yet.

Brianna Smity

Hey! My name is Brianna Smity and I'm majoring in Integrative Public Relations and minoring in Multimedia Design at University of Southern California (usc.edu). I love drawing and painting and I spend a lot of my time outdoors, more specifically on the water. I love to paddle board, boat, kayak, rollerblade, and bike. I LIVE for dogs and I would own 500 if I could. I have a black lab puppy named Luna and I miss her everyday I'm here at CMU. I love to listen to music, my taste is pretty diverse, but I am especially into 90s pop and alternative. My guilty pleasure is watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians, yes I know, but I am ADDICTED. My ultimate goal is to hopefully run social media platforms for a large company such as Victoria's Secret or Kylie Cosmetics.
