We carry on the same theme in bringing you the most expensive and exclusive hotel accommodations, and so far we’ve visited New York, Geneva and The Playboy inspired suite in Vegas. This week we’ve gone exotic – we are in the Bahamas with the sun on our backs, heading towards the famous Atlantis Paradise Island Resort where a bridge connecting two sky scrapers is our destination.
Aptly named the Atlantis Bridge Suite, it is possibly the best location for a hotel suite on the planet, with the view completely backing up its bold statement. In simple terms, the lookout from this suite is amazing and it is sandwiched between the Royal Towers of this incredible hotel, so it’s a one-of-kind venue.
Throughout this ten-room, 16-storey, lofted seclusion, only the finest touches have been built in and they are captured under a 22-karat gold chandelier hanging from a 12-foot high ceiling. All of this is in an effort to create a majestic and grand appearance; and let’s just say it was worth all the effort, with every inch of this suite screaming with opulence.
So what is this going to cost you, you ask? Let’s first dish out all the facts of the Bridge Suite… it’s marble floored with delicate shaded diversions and rugs breaking the tone, with the usual calibre of in-house goodies included; such as flat-screen TV’s, Jacuzzi, dressing areas, walk-in closets, whirlpool tub, a grand piano found in the entertainment area, and a very fancy and stately dining room. Oh, did we mention that with this suite comes a personal staff set of seven! This is on top of the in-house butler. This all comes for the cool price of $25 000, a little under R200 000.
Believe it or not, but that price isn’t that bad in the world of expensive hotel suites – fitting around the middle somewhere, actually. As crazy as that sounds, we would go if an unused R200K was floating around our bank accounts, or if we could convince ten friends to split the costs – it’s only a cheeky R20 000 a night, but what a night!
One of the most convincing reasons for parting with your R200K is the incredible balcony; 800 square feet of pure bliss. Only the most insane parties can and will happen there, with every invitee enjoying the 360° view across the waters of the lagoons, crystal pools and sea. Just picture it, smoking a cigar on one of the many chaise lounges, high cotton count robe on, only the best whiskey just poured by the butler, all as the dipping sun hides behind the horizon and the greatest day of your life draws to an end and the night begins. Ah, to live the life of a big shot.
This hotel suite is not so much a hotel suite; it’s more of a mansion with all the benefits of a hotel thrown in. The creators of fantasy that waved their wand over the Bridge Suite really did think about everything – even the staff have their own entrance and there are two separate private master bathrooms.
The only problem with this suite is few can afford it, but if everyone could it wouldn’t make it special, would it… and special it is.
