2010 SA Blog Awards

Written by Lenin Paul

The SA Blog Awards are held every year with 2010 being no different. Designed to showcase the very best of what South Africa has to offer in the blogging world, the front runners are rewarded in any way possible.

The competition is broken up into two phases; the nomination phase and the voting phase. To maintain a certain amount of transparency a nomination phase is run to select the blogs that will compete in each category. This is currently open and will run until the 27th of August 2010.

The important voting phase begins on the 1st of September 2010 until the closing date of the 17th of September 2010. This phase will have ten people per category, allowing you to decide and then vote for the blog that you think should be the winner in that category. Obviously the blog that gets the most votes will win that category.

There is quite a wide range of categories with the main one being the South African Blog of the Year which is sponsored by News24 this year. Last year, 2oceansvibe took honours for being the “best of the best” in South Africa, along with around five other categories. Let’s see if they can keep top spot this year with many new contenders in the blogosphere, all capable of holding the “best of the best” title. If you know any great blogs in South Africa, go and nominate them here.
