World-renowned clubbing brand Gatecrasher tours present Grammy-nominated artist DJ Paul van Dyk live in South Africa this February. The tour comes ahead of his highly anticipated upcoming album, “Evolution”. Returning to South Africa for the seventh time, “PVD’” as fans have nicknamed him, will headline three events as part of his 2012 “Evolution” World Tour.
As a 20 year veteran DJ on the club scene, Paul Van Dyk is known for his energetic and authentic live performances. As an artist, DJ and producer, Paul has notched up quite a number of accolades including; having sold more than 3.5 million albums and twice being voted the world’s No.1 DJ. He has remixed the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, U2 and Depeche Mode, earned a Grammy nomination and accepted the “Order of Merit” from the state of Berlin.
On Friday the 3 February, PVD will wow crowds in Durban and Joburg – two concerts in one night starting with the Wavehouse at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Umhlanga first and club du jour Truth, in Midrand, later that same night.
With four dedicated dance arenas including a never before utilised outdoor mega-park as the main arena, the Joburg leg of the tour hosted by Truth will showcase PVD spinning the decks on the largest sound, stage and lighting set-up at the venue to date. Some of the proudly South African support line-up DJs include Speedy, Spiro, Martin McHale, Morgan, James Damian, Ricardo da Costa, Pimp Squad, Roger D’lux, Karmi, Digital Rockit and more.
Van Dyke wraps up his South African tour on Saturday 4 January with a two-day Summer Music Festival at D’aria Wine Estate in Cape Town.
