Rock the Boat 2011 (Durban Rock the Boat with FUSIONIce) started the December party madness like no other party, and it did it with the same epicness as the preceding two events.
With sun, water, music, abundant party people and a cruise liner, what more could you ask for to kickstart your December holidays? And with sponsors like FUSIONIce vodka, Durban Tourism, Durex, Channel O, Mzanzi, Vuzu, DStv, Cleo, heat, FLUX Mag, SA Brasileiro, Thirst, and more, there is no wonder things were headed for major party time on-board this year’s most anticipated event.
The entertainment line-up was brilliant too and each of the acts made sure they left everyone loving the vibes and begging for more. Really, they were awesome! Just imaging this line-up keeping you going for all three days and nights: DJ Fresh, Zebra and Giraffe, Locnville, The Arrows, Teargas, Milkshake, DJ CLI, Conrad Koch, David Newton, Jamie Faull, Leo Large, Vanessa Holiday, Tumi Moraka, Sterra on Percussion, Rob Vember, Sphectacular, Erica Elle, Naves, Euphonik, Dimplez, Goodluck, Crazy White Boy and Hed Kandi. Yup, it’s a mad thought.
Most who went on this year’s cruise will probably admit to remembering it as mostly a blur of good laughs, great music, top entertainment, lounging around the pool deck with bikini-clad babes, and of course lots of drinking and partying. All 2 100 people (excluding the staff on-board) went all out for the three nights and days, with hardly any breaks in between. We loved it, again.
To tell you exactly what went down in detail would be difficult with an event like this, but the stand out day and night was the Saturday, when the sun was out in full force and everyone made sure they were making this their biggest party day/night. That night saw almost everyone on-board partying on the pool deck and it looked like a scene from this year’s Deadmau5 at H2O. It was brilliant.
Generally though, the days on-board were more chilled than the nights, with the Saturday seeing half the people on-board enjoying the good music and sipping on cocktails, whilst the other half ventured out to the Portuguese Island to enjoy much of the same, but on the deserted island beach. Ray-Ban also made a huge appearance on the Saturday with everyone posing with their great sunglasses and the “Never Hide” frame, creating a cool vibe. Not mentioning their hilarious airband and dance-off competitions.
The FLUX Mag crew definitely made the best of the event, gracing the pool decks with our eight gorgeous babes (dressed mostly in SA Brasileiro bikini’s and Soviet jeans), so you can just imagine the sight they put on.
Once again Rock the Boat (Durban Rock the Boat with FUSIONIce) was one of the best events of 2011 and FLUX Mag would like to thank the Launch Factory crew, the other sponsors and all the party animals on-board, for making it another memorable experience on the MSC Sinfonia.
2012 Rock the Boat… we’re already prepping our livers, packing our suitcases and mentally preparing ourselves for another of the best ocean based party, ever!
