The Ford Focus RS500 made its global debut at the 2010 Leipzig Motor Show in Germany a few days ago. The powerful limited-edition Focus RS model is Ford’s new ultimate performance car.

It has been given the RS500 designation to highlight its very limited production run of 500 individually numbered vehicles; all of which will be offered to customers to purchase.
Now, this is no Bugatti Veyron or Ferrari 599 GTO, so when you think about it the offer of a Ford hatch to a select number of customers, it’s like offering a nine year old some broccoli. That is until you see the car, have a look at what it is capable of and take note of the great success of the Focus RS.

The RS500 will put out just over 260KWs of power and 460Nm of torque. This will allow for a 0-100km/hour in only 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 263km/hour. The performance is complimented by its aggressive design and the matt black finish which makes it look like it belongs on a race track.
This design is extended into the interior where you will enter a sporty cockpit. The leather gives it a classy feel, but you are still reminded that this is a sports car by the red stitching on the seats, steering wheel and even the floor mats. If that is not enough then you can order the RS500 with full red leather Recaro racing seats.

Sadly it will most likely only be offered to European countries, but if it is successful you may find that one or two South Africans import this great car.
