Ford is promising a new era for driving enthusiasts with the expansion of the ST – Sport Technologies – range. The ST DNA will be shared across all future products bearing that badge. They will share key physical similarities in areas such as colours and exterior styling, as well as interior styling and driver-orientated interior features.

This DNA profile means a noticeable power increase over the existing model’s engine line-up and an emphasis on great fun-to-drive qualities. The new Focus ST combines strong performance, exceptional handling, eye-catching style and everyday refinement.
Powered by a 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost engine mated to a specially revised six-speed manual transmission, the car offers an uncompromising mix of performance and efficiency. The lightweight, all-aluminium engine delivers a maximum output of 184kW and peak torque of 360Nm, yet helps cut CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by more than 20% compared to the previous-generation European Focus ST.
South African driving enthusiasts will have to wait until 2012 before the Ford Focus ST hits the local automotive market.
