KTM have always dominated the off-road scene with some of the best bikes, including those that compete in the infamous Dakar Rally. When KTM announced that they would be competing in MotoGP it took everyone by surprise, but it also got us wondering – if they could dominate the off-road market what is stopping them from making an incredible on-road bike?
So they did just that. They took their experience on the track and threw it into a road-going machine that wows with every curve.
The V2 engine has a displacement of just less than 1150cc which will give you 113.8kW and 120Nm of power and torque respectively. On a bike that weighs just over 200KGs, KTM have definitely got the performance covered.
There is no shortage of stopping power either. The RC8 is stopped by a total of ten Brembo pistons, eight of which are on the front, bracing a 320mm disk. These are housed in two 17” cast aluminium wheels.
The specs definitely tell a tale of a superbike that could make big waves into the mostly Japanese dominated market of manufacturers, but only time will tell.
Do you think it will take the market by storm? Let us know in the comments below.
