The iBamboo Speaker is not on the market yet, but it certainly is proving to be one of technology’s newest eco-friendly devices. Using no electricity, iBamboo Speaker is just that – a speaker made of bamboo.Entrepreneur Anatoliy Omelchenko has invented these iPhone 4 speakers made of one single piece of bamboo, no metal, no plastic, no wires, no batteries. The design is quite simple. Beginning with about a foot-long sheath of bamboo. A thin hole is cut in the top to hold the iPhone, the bottom is cut and sanded to be flat, and either edge is cut at a diagonal angle for optimal sound quality.
The natural resonance of the bamboo amplifies the sound as it moves in two directions and creates a “surround-sound” effect. iBamboo is 100% eco-friendly, efficient to manufacture, and produces little waste.
The iBamboo Speaker is not available yet as Omelchenko is still gathering investors to back his eco-friendly brainchild. But one thing’s for sure, nothing says “green living” like sporting one of these in your home.
