We heard a rumour a while back about Google possibly launching Google TV. This led to a lot of speculation about what we could expect and how exactly it would bring it to the consumer, with Google not having any hand in hardware manufacturing.
The answer has come and it looks beautiful… okay maybe just pretty, but it definitely looks promising. Google have joined up with Sony and Logitech to bring two options to the table or, in this case, your TV cabinet.
Sony has manufactured a television and a Blu-ray disc player that have Google TV built in, giving you a variety of options. Both come with a keypad that allows you to browse the internet from your TV.
Logitech have realised a device, called the Revue, which simply connects to your HD TV giving you all of Google TV in a box. It comes with a full-size wireless keyboard with a big touchpad on the side for internet browsing.
Now I’m sure you’re interested to hear more about Google TV and I can tell you all about browsing the internet, installing apps like Twitter or Netflix, using your phone as a remote control or using Google TV as a PVR, but I think this video will give you more of an idea of the capabilities.
