BlackBerry released a range of phones and a service that has taken the mobile world by storm; funny that – you can get a BlackBerry Storm. Jokes aside and back to the topic of this post; BlackBerry has released a tablet that could possible take on Apple’s iPad, which was one of the most anticipate products of 2010.
It’s only right that the only company that is producing a product that is competing with the iPhone would produce a product that could possibly take on the iPad. The PlayBook has what you would expect from a tablet; small and portable, multi-touch capacitive screen, modern web browser with HTML 5, really great media capabilities and, of course, access to the BlackBerry App World.
What sets the iPad apart from almost everyone out there, so far, is its speed. BlackBerry does not really like that and have really crammed as much power into the PlayBook as possible; it has a 1 GHz dual-core processor and a gigabyte of RAM. It also has a HD display with a Micro HDMI port so that you can watch your HD movie on your 46” HD TV.
Best of all, it has all the features that have attracted many people to the BlackBerry phones such as push technology (instant e-mails), e-mail, BlackBerry Messenger, documents, BlackBerry Enterprise Server compatibility and 3G access via the free BlackBerry Internet Service. The only thing could be the price which could be around R5000.00 but I think that it could be worth it.
