With effect, flip through a new glossy magazine and it is highly unlikely that you will see professional golfer Tiger Woods appearing in any “Tag Heuer” adverts.

The Swiss watch maker juggernauts recently announced that after a decade of sponsoring Woods, they have ended the commercial relationship (their contract expired in July this year), as a result of misdemeanours that have painted him negatively in the media. The sponsorship is rumoured to be worth over $10 million.
The company stopped promoting him in America in 2009 after the highly publicised demise of his marriage begin to portray him in under a bad light. Apparently Tag Heuer are the sixth sponsor to cut Woods loose. Woods has been linked to a series of sex scandals (which included a string of high class escorts, cocktail waitresses and porn stars) which have not done him any favours as up to his fall from grace, he had an overly good-boy image.
However, Tag Heuer will continue to support Wood’s charitable organisation by still selling a watch he designed.
