The Barclays Premier League has seen its fair share of thrilling endings to the season and the 2010/2011 season is heading towards a grand finale. Manchester United and Chelsea are separated by only one point after both winning their games over the weekend.
Chelsea really sent the message with a 7-0 thrashing of Stoke City which was a oneway “goal-fest” from the current leaders. Manchester, however, did not have such an easy game. Tottenham was the last of Manchester’s really tough matches and when Tottenham equalised a shocking realisation that it could be the end for Manchester’s title hopes kicked in. 11 minutes later their title aspirations were reignited with a goal by Nani and the win was confirmed only five minutes later with a penalty that Ryan Giggs put away.
This will make for an exciting last few games with Chelsea having the more difficult road facing Liverpool on Saturday, 2nd May, 2010. If Chelsea overcomes Liverpool they will surely take the title which means we might have a few Manchester supporters getting behind their arch enemies hoping they beat Chelsea.
Regardless of this match every other one is a no loss, no draw situation for either team which will give both of their fans a very restless two weeks.
