London is currently buzzing as they prepare for the London 2012 Olympics which will run from July 27 to August 12.
For the record, it is the third time that the city has snagged the honour of hosting the Olympic Games. 4 700 medals have been crafted for this event. As the event is of a titanic magnitude, athletes from a whopping 204 National Olympic Committees are geared to compete in close to 30 different events in the sports arena.
In lieu of the event a 70 day relay will take place, as the torch will be passed through 8 000 participants and will cover a distance of 12 800kms. The opening and closing ceremony will be a show like no other and is set to have an estimated audience of four billion people. Oscar winning director Danny Boyle has rendered his expertise for the ceremony.
