EFC Africa 11, taking place at the Coca-Cola Dome on 10 November, promises fans the best MMA action to end off the year. The event features two of the year’s most significant title fights, plus fan favourites that have been requested all-year round.
The evening’s main event sees heavyweight wrecking machine Andrew ‘One Gear’ van Zyl challenge current champion Ruan ‘Fangzz’ Potts. A former grappling and Muay Thai champion, Potts’ weapons are devastating, and he now sits with a record of 13-0. van Zyl’s last fight against Bernardo Mikixi proved he could stand with one of the heaviest hitters in the sport, and his record 7-0 record will be put to the test as he guns for the title.
The second main card fight sees Costa Ioannou, the reigning lightweight champion, with a 3-0 record and heralded by many to be one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in Africa, defending his title for the first time. Alex Cheboub, Ioannou’s opponent, is undeniably one of EFC Africa’s most cunning and unpredictable fighters, and with a record of 8-5, this should see one of the best fights of the year.
EFC AFRICA 11 takes place at the Coca-Cola Dome on 10 November. Tickets for the live event are on sale now at Computicket and tickets for the live broadcast to Nu Metro Cinemas will be on sale shortly.
