UK naval architecture and marine engineering design consultancy BMT Nigel Gee and recent transport design graduate Henry Ward have created a portable Island.

Their creation, Recreational Island is a floating platform that can be stored in the tender bay of a mega yacht. The island has a measurement of 10m x 8m, but can be altered according to the customer’s desire. Apart for recreational purposes, the island could be used for watersports; for judges that need a 360 view. Another option currently being investigated is to configure the island for use as a portable helicopter landing platform.

The island is secured by four anchors and it is mind blowing to think of the wild parties you could have on one of these makeshift islands. The Recreational Island concept was originally designed by Henry Ward for his final year project at the University of Huddersfield in England.
