Café Vacca Matta has been around for years and while other clubs have come and gone, Vacca Matta has only grown and branched out to various parts of the country. Café Vacca Matta in Durban is no exception and, make no mistake, Sundays are definitely not chilled days at this venue. Situated in the Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World on Battery Beach Road, Sunday Sessions at Vacca Matta is all about house music. Dance your blues away with some kick ass DJs and enjoy this coastal club with its Coyote Ugly-style atmosphere and cocktails to die for. The party starts at 3pm and goes on ‘til late.
Joe Cools is part and parcel of a good time in Durban. The food is amazing and as for the atmosphere, well, Joe Cools is always rocking – especially on Sundays! If you’ve never been to this Durban staple then you’ll find it on Lower North Beach, Marine Parade. Just follow the stairs to one of the most awesome clubs in the country – Sundays are particularly great thanks to the diverse tunes from the DJs, the excellent cocktails and shooters that’ll shake you to the core. Enjoy the balmy afternoons out on the deck and head inside later to play pool, hang out in the lounge area or rub elbows with other fellow beach lovers. Check out the Joe Cools Facebook Page.
If you are more into the chilled scene, then head off to Artscafe – a perfect venue for kicking back to acoustic tunes and live music. Two of South Africa’s renowned musicians Roly Struckmeyer and Dave Mcmillan, have created an acoustic dynamic and Artscafe on Bulwer Road is ideal for those Sundays when you just need to hang back with some mates and enjoy live music performances. You’ll need to get there by 1pm because the session continues only ‘til 3pm, thereafter you can continue the chilled vibe with sundowners and wholesome food. The menu is exquisite – expect yummy wraps and comfort food all in a relaxed outdoor vibe.
