Sneaker Goliath company Nike have created a replica of the heavily illuminating shoes that Marty McFly (played by Michael J Fox) wore in the cult sci-fi comedy Back to the Future… introducing the Nike Mag.
Apparently only 1 500 limited edition pairs have been produced and have already caught the eye of a few celebrities including British rapper,“Tinie Tempah”. On the downside, these awesome shoes start at $3 500.
In 1992, L.A Gear produced one of their most successful ranges, lighted shoes called “L.A Lights”. To draw a comparison between L.A. Lights and Nike Mag would be like trying to draw akinship between a spark and an inferno. The Nike Mag contains an electroluminescent panel on the strap and the sole and heel is laced with an array of LED lights.
All proceeds will be donated to the Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Disease Foundation for Research. Nike designer Tinker Hatfield worked on the new range of the Nike Mag and also designed the movie version. These sneakers are incredible and futuristic to the max but definitely not for those who travel incognito.
