One the most glamorous events in the South African polo calendar, the Veuve Clicquot Masters, took place for the first time this year at Val de Vie Wine and Polo Estate on Sunday 17 April. Over 600 celebrities, VIPs, socialites and polo lovers attended and all dressed to impress.
Veuve Clicquot hosted their first South African polo event, taking their cue from the Manhattan Classic in New York and the UK’s Gold Cup. Celebrities and VIPs mingled at the sophisticated Veuve Clicquot polo lounge and bar, dressed in outfits by top designers such as Malcolm Kluk, Gavin Rajah and Hendrik Vermeulen Couturier. Celebrities in attendance included Jeannie D, Vanessa Haywood, Elana Africa, Mark Bayly, Sonia and Matthew Booth, Vanessa Marawa and Rosie Motene.
With the Veuve Clicquot flowing guests enjoyed the great polo and entertainment throughout the day, including the talented male-only A’Capella group, D-Seven and, the highlight of the day, Lindiwe Suttle, performing her brand new debut single, Man Made Moon.
Aside from Veuve Clicquot’s “invitation only” lounge, other VIPs were spoiled in the VIP Masters Lounge by luxury brands Viyella Menswear and Coco Palm Resorts from the Maldives.
A perfect Cape sunset and full moon rising over the Simonsberg Mountains ended an entertaining day at the Veuve Clicquot Masters – an event that is set to become an annual institution in the social calendar.
