The Mr Price Pro Ballito 2011 (the 12th edition of the event, which has continued the proud tradition of the long running Gunston 500) will be taking place from 4 to 10 July, and will be an action-packed beach festival with its main event being the Mr Price Pro, an ASP Prime surfing competition. This contest sees the world’s top surfers competing for the first place prize of $40,000.00 and an invaluable 6,500 points on the ASP World Tour Rankings.
Apart from the brilliant surfing action, local musicians will also be performing for festival-goers at Salt Rock on 8 and 9 July at the Mr Price Pro entertainment stage in the retail and lifestyle area. On Friday, July 8 the line-up includes Farryl Purkiss, Dance You’re on Fire, the Graeme Watkins Project, Dirty Skirts, aKing and Euphonix, whilst Saturday, July 9 sees a line-up of Ard Matthews, Goodluck, Fire through the Window, Crash Car Burn, Flash Republic and DJ Fresh.

Special guests at the festival include South African surfing legend Shaun Tomson who will be commentating on the Mr Price Pro live webcast, as well as six time South African freediving record holder and ocean conservationist Hanli Prinsloo.
