5fm and Nokia are bringing Kings of Leon down to SA for two performances in March 2011.
A short while ago a note on www.eventful.com pleaded to fellow Kings of Leon fans to download a ‘Demand It!’ widget, in the hopes that someone would take notice of this new age “petition method” and bring the band to SA.
Needless to say, their “demand” has been granted and Kings of Leon will be heading to SA for two shows in March of 2011.
Presented by Nokia and 5FM, the Sex on Fire hit makers will rock out Cape Town Stadium on 24 March 2011, followed by their second show at the FBN Stadium in Joburg on 27 March 2011.
“Kings of Leon has been the most requested band to see live by South Africans for several years now, so 5fm is anticipating them to continue their trend of selling out stadiums in record time in South Africa as they have done the world over,” 5fm program manager Vukile Zondi said in a recent press release.
The quartet recently released their new album Come Around Sundown, which some felt was not their best, if not on a completely different wavelength. Nevertheless, there’s little doubt that the expectations of those who demanded Kings of Leon to perform here will be met.
Tickets are already on sale at Computicket.
