He may have lost out on the coveted title of American Idol, but Chris Daughtry never gave up on his dream of becoming a rock star. Which he has become, and he’s bringing his enormously-talented band, Daughtry, for the first time to South Africa!

Daughtry kicks off their tour at the Grand Arena, Grand West Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town on Wednesday, 27 October 2010. They will then pack their speakers, drum kits and guitar strings and head on up to the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on Friday, 29 October 2010. That’s just around the corner, so if you haven’t purchased your tickets, now’s the time to get on to the Computicket website and swipe your credit card!
A little history: in 2006 Daughtry released their self-titled debut album, which spawned not only the incredible rocking tunes and number one hits It’s Not Over, Home and Feels Like Tonight, but also a cabinet full of awards from the American Music Awards, the World Music and the Billboard Music Awards.
Next came their second platinum album Leave This Town in 2009. It’s a beautiful fusion of mixes: powerful rock, hushed ballads and emotional mid-tempo rockers. It went straight to number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and its two singles No Surprise and September comfortably sat at the top of music charts for a good few weeks.
Every member of the band pens the songs that are featured on their albums, but Chris took the ingenious step of collaborating with Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, Brian Craddock, Vince Gill, Mitch Allan, and producers Howard Benson and Brian Howes.
Daughtry is proudly brought to you by the media power houses who support the best in live entertainment, namely MNET, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Big Concerts. Tickets are available from R221.00 to R399.00 and can be purchased from Computicket.
