The 2012 Regional Workouts have been announced (see photos for the various three day workouts), which are the same across all 17 regions around the world.
The winning team, individual male and female will move on to represent Africa at the CrossFit Games in Carson, California, USA.
Whereas the Open was designed for 99%, with the 1% in mind, the Regional workouts are designed for that 1% – so you will be seeing the top 1% in the world and the fittest and strongest athletes in Africa.
The 2012 Regional Workouts have some classic CrossFit challenges as well as some new twists. Competitors will have to complete a minimum amount of work in order to move on to the next workout. As long as a competitor meets or exceeds the minimum requirements, they will not have to face cuts until the final event of the competition.
The 2012 Regional Team Workouts are variations of the Individual workouts. The teams will face some specific challenges, too. The team workouts are designed to punish the weakest link.
The Regionals kick off on the 4-6 May, with the African Regionals taking place at Camps Bay High School (Lower Kloof Road South Africa 8005, South Africa), with the first workout starting at 9am.
Show your support for Africa’s top athletes on the 4-6 May, and experience the best of CrossFit!
