The Cellar Rats Spring Wine Festival, taking place from the 4th September, is a great weekend for wine tasting and relaxing in the Magaliesburg area.

This festival is being held at the historic “Old Mill”, on the banks of the picturesque Magalies River (approx. 35 minutes from Jo’burg’s Northern Suburbs), and the atmosphere is relaxed and social, whilst enjoying some of the finest wines South Africa has to offer.

Seeing that the emphasis is on tasting South Africa’s best wines in a tranquil outdoor setting, more than 100 wine producers will present with in excess of 600 wines for your enjoyment.

The festival also has a policy that designated drivers get in for free and if you are interested in staying in Magaliesburg on the Saturday and/ or Sunday evenings, The Valley Lodge, which is situated close to the festival, offers a 50% discount on accommodation for those going to the festival. There is also Honey Coastline who is arranging transport to and from the festival, with two collection points arranged at Greenstone Mall and Northgate shopping center; book with them by contacting Meg McDonald on 082 455 2970 or email them on honeycoast@mweb.co.za.
