When they won the World Cup of Funny in 2010, they united a nation through laughter, strengthened international ties with their groundbreaking performance at the Royal Albert Hall and broke all comedy records with their subsequent Victory Tour. In 2011 they defended their title during “The Odd Shaped Ball” Games and became South Africa’s Comedy Heroes.
Now, the team featuring SA’s funniest stand-up comedians is gearing up for their biggest challenge to date. going for Gold at the 2012 Olympics of Funny with their aptly named “Rings of Fire” Tour. The team to carry the torch and SA’s hopes for Gold includes Loyiso Gola, David Kau, Kagiso Lediga, David Kibuuka, Chris Forest, Mpho Popps, Nik Rabinowitz, Tats Nkonzo, Deep Fried Man and of course Olympic Host, Mark Banks.With a burning desire and a nation’s support behind them, the Bafunny team is set to fly the flag high as the countdown to their nationwide tour begins.
