Swedish electronic dance music DJ, Avicii is heading for South African shores in March. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the pumping 2011 Deadmau5 tour that had fans dancing the year-end blues away.

The Avicii South Africa Tour will take place at the end of March, with concerts in Joburg, Durban and Cape Town. Avicii is the Swedish electronic dance music sensation also known as Tim Berg, Tom Hangs, and Ashwin. At only 22, his debut single made several Top 20s all over the world and he has been nominated for a Grammy Award. Last year, he was ranked sixth on the international Top 100 DJ list. The Avicii shows are a combined collaboration between H2O, Anything Goes and Showtime Management and Lovoka.

The shows will take place on Friday 30 March at The Wavehouse, Durban (doors open 3pm, Avicii’s set is at 10pm), Saturday 31 March at H20, Jo’burg (doors open 11am, Avicii’s set is at 5pm) and Saturday 31 March at Thunder City, Cape Town (doors open 5pm, Avicii’s set is at midnight).

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 30 January. Ticket prices are:
Saturday 31 March at H20, Joburg (5pm slot):
General admission:  First 4 000 tickets R330, second 2000 tickets R360, and  third 2 000 tickets R400
VIP tickets: First 2 000 tickets R430 and second 1 000 tickets R500
VVIP tickets: R1 500

Saturday 31 March at Thunder City, Cape Town (midnight slot):
General admissions: R350
Golden circle: R450

Friday 30 March at The Wavehouse, Durban (10pm slot)
General admissions: R290
