Bollywood is known for over the top dance sequences, epic love stories and an array of bedazzling beauties, Priyanka Chopra being one of the Indian Hollywood’s prized treasures.
For those of you that are not familiar with the prominent actress, she has been making waves on the entertainment scene since 2008, when she got her big break when she was cast as Meghna Mathu as the leading lady in the Bollywood movie Fashion. To date she has acted in a slew of well received movies and garnered, lots and lots of awards for her thespian exploits.
The modelling world has also felt her presence when she modelled for fashion designer Ritu Kumar’s collection at HDIL India Couture Week and she is still a regular fixture there. She is also a regular judge at various beauty pageants and was even a judge in 2009 for Miss World which was held in Johannesburg.
The ends of her talent do not simply stop there. She also has a nightingale voice and signed a record deal with Universal Music Group and Desi Hits, last year. Amongst her numerous accolades, she was voted as India’s best dressed by People Magazine (last year) and topped the 2011 Maxim Hot 100 List.
Pleasingly, social responsibility is high on her agenda. She has supported several causes and charities and has been a self-conduit for raised awareness. In 2010, she was also appointed as official ambassador for UNICEF, a charity that promotes children’s rights.
