Thanks to the encouraging words of a family friend, 20 year old Emily DiDonato decided to pursue modelling as a career. Since then, neither DiDonato, nor her throng of fans, have looked back.
She quickly signed with Request Model Management in 2008 and the jobs soon started pouring in with her spring 2009 Guess? clothing campaign – DiDonato was chosen to be the face of that season – quite a feat. Shortly after she modelled in Ralph Lauren’s “Rugby” spring 2009 advertisement campaign.
In May 2009, she was signed as the latest face of Maybelline New York, quite a biggie for a girl who had just graduated from high school with only a few months of modelling experience. She made her TV commercial debut for Maybelline alongside veteran supermodel Christy Turlington.
DiDonato began modeling for Victoria’s Secret in August 2009, and landed her first magazine cover with The Block‘s October 2009 issue. Prior to the 2009 New York Fashion Week, Vogue Germany dubbed her “top newcomer.” In 2010, she became the face of Giorgio Armani’s fragrance Acqua Di Gioia.
