At 5ft 10” Doutzen Kroes is currently one of the modelling world’s sweetest and richest assets. At the tender age of 26, this Dutch hottie has set the catwalk on fire and is also a Victoria’s Secret Angel and Forbes favourite. No small feat for a girl who aspired to be a professional speed skater.
She’s graced the covers of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Glamour and even Time magazines. On the runway, she’s been trusted to represent high profile designers like Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino and Blumarine. Calvin Klein signed her to be the face of both their “White” label and fragrance, Eternity. In 2005, Vogue.com voted her as Model of the Year, an achievement that in 2007 landed her Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s nod of approval to appear with other models under the headline, “World’s Next Top Models” on the May 2007 cover.
At the end of August 2008, Victoria’s Secret confirmed that Kroes was to be the newest Victoria’s Secret Angel. In May 2009 and May 2010 Forbes named her fifth in the list of the World’s 15 Top- Earning Supermodels. During 2009 and 2010, Kroes showed that she is more than just a pretty face when Dutch Marie Claire offered her a monthly column documenting her life as a supermodel and girl-about-town.
Kroes has been romantically linked to hip-hop DJ Greg Andrews (DJ Ruckus), appearing with him in the May 2009 issue of American Vogue in an article entitled “Meet the Boyfriends”. After her break-up with DJ Ruckus, she stayed on the music scene and started dating Dutch DJ Sunnery James. The couple married on 7 November, 2010, and in January 2011, Kroes gave birth to a son, Phyllon Joy Gorré.
